UNDERSTANDING KAPHA

You embody the nurturing and grounding qualities of the earth. Your mind is steady, supportive, and you appreciate stability in your life. You thrive on structure and routine, finding it very difficult to change even if you want to. You speak thoughtfully, often sharing deep insights and wisdom, preferring practical and grounded topics.

It might be that your environment, lifestyle, work, or coping skills have made you adopt adaptive behaviors to manage your current situation. It might not match the archetype you arrived with from birth, but it's working for you and has become part of who you are.

Kapha archetypes benefit from faster-paced exercises - anything that gets them moving.

Your Kapha body tends to be on the heavier side with larger proportions. You have thick beautiful skin, large attractive cow eyes, and lush hair and lashes. You always seem to have a healthy glow about you! You gain weight easier than most and can struggle to lose it. You have healthy digestion and although you enjoy food you can skip meals without issue.

Are you drawn to stability and comfort? Do you sometimes find yourself feeling sluggish or weighed down? Do you feel the most energized in the spring when everything is new and blooming? Do you sometimes get stuck in patterns of overthinking and lethargy when you're stressed or overwhelmed? Maybe you're a Kapha Energetic Archetype or maybe you have a Kapha imbalance.

OVERINDULGENCE

When you are stressed, sometimes you seek comfort in food or habits.

RESISTANCE TO CHANGE

You may become resistant to new ideas or changes. They prefer the comfort of familiar routines, which can hold back them back in life.

LETHARGY

Your energy becomes unpredictable, leading to erratic sleep, poor eating patterns, and inconsistent digestion. This can leave you feeling depleted and scattered.

DEPRESSION

Your natural light air energy can tip into excess and lead to a lack of moisture and juiciness. Your skin and hair might become brittle, begging for nourishment.

INDECISIVENESS

Physically and emotionally, you might feel cold and disconnected, both from yourself and others.

SIMPLE WAYS TO BALANCE KAPHA

WHAT IS AN AYURVEDIC ARCHETYPE?

Each person has a unique combination of the five great elements - earth, water, fire, air, and space. These elements are combined to form the three primary Energetic Archetypes [aka doshas] of Vata [ether + air], Pitta [fire + water], and Kapha [water + earth]. These energies influence everything from our digestion, physical characteristics, and how we process thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

Everyone has all three energies in their mind and body however most people are dominated by one or two primarily. You may also have one dominant energy in your mind and another in your body.

Understanding our personal unique Energetic Archetype helps us identify where we thrive and how to get back there [mind, body, and spirit] when we are out of balance.
